Evidence scanner for iPhone

Scan documents into tamper-evident evidence. On your phone, never in the cloud.

CaseSeal is a private PDF scanner that turns paper into sealed, numbered exhibits. Every page is fingerprinted with SHA-256 the moment you capture it, timestamped, and written to a chain-of-custody log, so you can show later that a document is exactly what you scanned.

How it works

1. Scan or import

Scan paper with the iPhone document camera, capture book spreads, or import photos and PDFs. Imported PDFs are kept byte-for-byte.

2. Sealed instantly

Each page gets a SHA-256 hash and an exhibit number. Text is recognised on the device, so every PDF is searchable.

3. Every action logged

Renames, signatures, verifications and exports are added to an append-only, hash-chained custody log with time, device and app version.

4. Share a packet

Export an evidence packet: cover page, exhibit index, stamped exhibits and a hash manifest, plus CSV and JSON.

Questions

What is a SHA-256 hash and why does it matter?

It is a fingerprint of a file's exact contents. Change one pixel and the fingerprint changes completely. CaseSeal records it at capture, so anyone can later check that a document has not been altered.

Does CaseSeal upload my documents?

No. Everything is processed and stored on your iPhone. Files leave the app only when you choose to share them.

Is a CaseSeal record admissible in court?

CaseSeal produces records that support authenticity, but admissibility depends on your jurisdiction's rules. It is not legal advice.

How much does it cost?

The free version includes 1 case and 5 exhibits with scanning, OCR, search, hashing and custody logs. A one-time Pro purchase unlocks unlimited cases, evidence packets, signatures and advanced exports.
