Tap Save when you've captured every page. The pages are hashed and logged straight away, and text recognition runs in the background.

No. There is no account. Everything works offline. The only step that uses the internet is buying or restoring Pro, which talks to the App Store.

Yes: open it and tap the title, or use the ••• menu. Renaming is recorded in the custody log; the file itself does not change.

A SHA-256 hash is a fingerprint of a file's exact bytes. If even one pixel changes, the hash changes completely. CaseSeal records each page's hash at capture, so anyone can later recompute the hash of an exported file and compare it with the logged value.

macOS or Linux: shasum -a 256 "Exhibit-001.pdf". Windows: certutil -hashfile "Exhibit-001.pdf" SHA256. Compare the result with the SHA-256 in the packet's hash manifest or in manifest.csv.

An append-only list of everything that happened to an exhibit: captured, text recognised, PDF generated, renamed, annotated, signed, verified, exported, shared. Each entry stores an ISO 8601 timestamp, device model, iOS version, app version and the file's SHA-256, and includes the hash of the previous entry, so edits or deletions are detectable. Tap Verify Integrity on any exhibit to re-check everything.

To keep it trustworthy. Signatures and annotations are saved as a new version with its own hash, linked to the version it came from. Version 1 always remains the untouched capture.

You can withdraw it. It moves to Recently Deleted for 30 days, where you can restore it; after that its files are erased. The number is never reused and the custody log records each step, so packets show any gap honestly. Deleting an entire case removes everything for that case permanently.

Yes. Use Tools › Files or Tools › Photos, or the photo button on the home screen. Imported PDFs are kept byte-for-byte and hashed; photos are sealed like scans, and the original files are kept alongside with their own hashes.

PDF, text (.txt) and images (.jpg) for everyone; Word-compatible .docx, PowerPoint-compatible .pptx, merged PDFs and expense reports (PDF + CSV) with Pro. Every export is checked against the exhibit's hash first and recorded in its custody log.

CaseSeal produces records that support authenticity, but admissibility depends on your jurisdiction's rules and the court. Ask a qualified lawyer. CaseSeal is not legal advice.

One PDF with a cover page, exhibit index, every exhibit with "EXHIBIT n" headers and page-numbered footers, and a hash manifest page. You can embed the exact exhibit files inside the PDF so recipients can extract and re-hash them. The manifest is also exported as CSV and JSON, and a ZIP bundle contains everything with a README.

CaseSeal re-hashes every exhibit before building a packet and refuses to continue if a file no longer matches its recorded hash. Open the exhibit and tap Verify Integrity to see which file is affected.

Open Settings › Restore Purchases (or the Pro screen) while signed in to the same Apple Account.

This usually means Ask to Buy is waiting for a family organizer's approval, or your bank needs to confirm the payment. Pro unlocks automatically when it is approved; you don't need to buy again.

It's on by default. Change it, or how soon the app re-locks, in Settings › Security.

They're stored only in CaseSeal's private storage on your iPhone. An encrypted iPhone backup or Quick Start transfer moves them along with your other app data. For a hand-off copy, export an evidence packet bundle.
