CaseSeal collects no data.
What stays on your device
- Scanned pages and the PDFs made from them.
- Recognised text (OCR). On iPhone, text recognition uses Apple's on-device Vision framework. No image or text is sent anywhere.
- Case details you type: titles, reference numbers, dates and notes.
- SHA-256 hashes and custody logs, including timestamps, the device model, iOS version and app version recorded with each action.
- Signatures and annotations you draw, which become part of a new version of an exhibit.
- Settings such as the app-lock preference, stored in the iOS Keychain.
Files are stored inside the app's private container with iOS Complete data protection, which means they are encrypted while your iPhone is locked. If you use iCloud Backup or computer backups, iOS may include the app's data in those backups, which you control.
What we collect
Nothing. CaseSeal contains no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not make network requests for its features. Our App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.
Camera, photos and Face ID
The camera is used only when you scan a document or a QR code. Your photo library is opened only when you choose photos to import, using the iOS picker; CaseSeal sees only the photos you pick. QR code contents are shown to you and never sent anywhere; links open only if you confirm. Face ID (or your passcode) is used only to unlock the app; CaseSeal never receives your biometric data, which stays with iOS.
In-app purchase
The optional Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we do not receive your name, payment details or Apple Account. To confirm your purchase the app asks the App Store on your device, which requires an internet connection for that step only.
Sharing and exports
Documents leave CaseSeal only when you use Share or export an evidence packet. Where they go next (Mail, Files, AirDrop, another app) is your choice, and that destination's own privacy terms apply. Exported files include the hashes and custody details shown in the app, including your device model and iOS version.
Deleting your data
Withdrawn exhibits stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days so you can restore them, then their files are erased. You can also delete them sooner, delete a whole case, or use Settings › Delete All Data. Deleting the app removes everything stored by it from your device. Because we hold no copy, we cannot recover deleted data.
Children
CaseSeal is a general productivity tool, is not directed at children, and collects no information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. A change that would introduce any data collection would be stated clearly in the app and in the App Store listing before it takes effect.
